The group and the knitting are both growing
Hi,
A new lady came along last week and delighted us all by sharing her new knitting magazine. Lots of projects have now been completed - I will post a picture of my felted bag -and it seems that every body can knit faster than me!
My project of an Afghan throw which is supposed to be a Christmas present is making progress but I think in terms of percentage growth the group is growing faster than my blanket.
Next time we will have to meet in the lounge rather than the conservatory as we won't all fit in now and it's going to be coffee and walnut cake and chelsea buns, with real coffee and tea from a tea pot.
look forward to seeing you there.

A great first evening
We had a lovely time at the first knit and natter group - we did exactly what we had proposed to do. Ate cake, admired each others craft projects, drank tea, did a bit of our various crafts and of course talked!! Ruth was "encouraged" to unravel the last 6 inches of her cardigan back so that she could reknit it perfectly - but she refused to comply and started work on the front instead. Will it reappear corrected next month?
I am currently making a felted bag - none of the group (including me) has made one of these before. I am being very positive and am saying that it will be lovely once it is finished - however most of the people who have looked at it are very sceptical, the general comments seem to be something along the lines of "the yarn is very nice". Once finished I will post before and after felting photos - even if it is a disaster.
Next knit and natter will be Monday 12th April (as the first Monday is a bank holiday)- hope to see you there

First group meets this Monday
The first group of knit and natter (Downham) meets on Monday. There has been a great response and many suggestions as to what flavour of cakes would be appropriate. I have settled on a large coffee and walnut cake, a chocolate fudge cake and some blueberry muffins. One potential group member has wondered if the group should be renamed "knit and get fatter!" - I hope not!

Knit and Natter
The first meeting of Knit and Natter (Downham, Bromley) will be on 1st March.
The aim is to get people who knit, sew, crochet, embroider etc together to do just those things. Also to eat cake, drink tea, make new friends and natter!
